Waikiki Beach Boys

The Waikiki Beachboys Canoe Club was founded in 1973 by a group of beach boys who belonged to other paddling canoe clubs. These men wanted to perpetuate the image of the original Waikiki beach boys, who appeared shortly after the opening of the Moana Hotel in 1901. They were water sports instructors who respected the ocean and mastered the skills of surfing and outrigger canoeing, while sharing the Aloha spirit of Hawaii with the world.
