In Hawaii its fairly common to see this hand symbol, called a "shaka".  The sign ranges in meaning from a greeting of hello, to "cool" or "all right" or as it's perhaps best become known, "Hang Loose".  After all, isn't that what the Hawaiian Islands are all about?
