Ricky Grigg is one of the most accomplished waterman that the Santa Monica Bay has ever produced. Grigg is a great surfer, but also a paddler, a diver, a scientist, and an oceanographer. As a surfer, he was the winner of the 1967 Duke Kahanamoku Invitational amongst a field of some of the biggest names in surfing history. In addition to all his other accomplishments it should be noted that Grigg is also an accomplished big wave surfer.
