Mike Doyle was and is a major inovator in the surf industry. He was the winner of the 1968 Duke Kahanamoku Invitational in addition to numerous other major contests. In the world of surfing innovation, he was one of the founders of Surf Research, which created the first surf wax. He also is responsible for the creation of the now widely used soft surfboard. Whether in the limelight or behind the scenes, Doyle's numerous contributions have left a dramatic impact on the surfing's history.
