The original Waikiki beach boys were water sports instructors who worked on the beaches in waikiki in the early 1900's. These beach boys taught the visitors who traveled to Hawai‘i how to surf, catch waves in an outrigger canoe, and enjoy the Hawaiian culture. The beach boys were well known for their charm and their love of Hawai‘i, which helped establish their status as true representatives of Hawaiian hospitality and culture. As a result, the beachboys became a symbol of Aloha, and helped to draw more and more tourists to The Islands. This hooded sweatshirt should be worn with pride and as a reminder to spread the Aloha spirit.
