The hula lamp was originally created during the 1930's with a style and feel of The Islands before Hawai'i became a major tourist destination. These collectors lamps contained a small quiet motor which which made the hula girls hips and skirt gently sway. Today, these original lamps are very rare and highly coveted collectors items, fetching thousands of dollars at antique houses and auctions. This reproduction has been faithfully brought back, using the same molds and materials as the original lamps from the 30's. Cast from metal, the lamp is hand-plated in a high-quality antique copper finish, which ensures that each lamp is unique. The lamp shade adds a gentle touch using tropical raffia grass. A three-way control switch provides independent control of both the light and the movement of the hula skirt.
